Twins were born in different years in one of the maternal hospitals in Acari, Rio de Janeiro.

Gabriella was born at 23:58 on December 31, 2019 becoming the last newborn of the year in Rio; and Ryan was the first newborn of 2020, being born only 3 minutes later.

The mother of the twins Joseni Silva de Lima (40) came to maternal hospital at 23:10 – she was already in labor. She was immediately sent to delivery room, where she had a caesarean section at the 35th week of pregnancy.

As the babies were born prematurely, they would need to spend a few days in the maternal hospital under doctors’ care. Gabriella was born weighing 2,460kg and 47cm tall. Ryan was born weighing 2,860kg and 49cm tall.

The doctors mentioned that such a birth of twins is a rare case. The doctors in the maternity ward even celebrated it. Gabriella and Ryan’s parents – Joseni and Rodrigo Faustina de Silva – already have 2 children. From now on, New Year will be a real holiday for the family.
