Floyd Mayweather once wanted “twerk queen” Miley Cyrus to be a ring girl at one of his boxing fights.
The former four-weight world champion is no stranger to having glamorous ring girls present at his fights after becoming one of the sports biggest stars during his impressive unbeaten professional career. However, after his majority decision victory over Canelo Alvarez in September 2013, he made a specific request for who he wanted to accompany him on his next ring walk.
During an interview with Billboard in the days after the bout, Mayweather admitted he wanted Cyrus at his next fight and even called her the “twerk queen”.
“I was thinking about letting the twerk queen Miley Cyrus bring me out. Why not?” explained the Olympic bronze medallist.
Cyrus’ “twerk queen” tag stemmed from her antics at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards, where the singer had twerked and danced on stage with Robin Thicke.
Sadly for Mayweather and fight fans, Cyrus is yet to appear as a ring girl at any of his fights since, as Mayweather went on to retire with a professional record of 50-0 after beating Conor McGregor via technical knockout in August 2017.
He has since gone on to compete in a string of exhibition bouts, most recently against YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul in Miami, Florida in June last year.

Mayweather was due to return to the ring this weekend facing his former sparring partner Don Moore on the helipad at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. But it was postponed following the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
Moore also has an unbeaten professional record, which stands at 18-0-1, but his last professional fight came six years ago back in 2016.
One week prior to the bout, Mayweather took to social media to taunt his former opponent Alvarez, following his WBA Super light heavyweight world title defeat to Dmitrii Bivol last weekend. Mayweather posted a winning bet slip on Instagram, showing he had staked $10,000 on the unbeaten Russian and had won over $50,000 as a result of his unanimous decision victory.
