My Wife My Abuser: The Secret Footage tells the heartbreaking story of Richard Spencer, who chronicled 20 years of abuse he suffered at the hands of his wife in a series of interviews.
Richard lived with his wife Sheree Spencer at their home in Bubwith in East Yorkshire, and shared footage of his abuse from a nanny cam while telling his story.
“The most demoralising thing that happened to me. I was sitting on the bedroom floor because Sheree wouldn’t let me sit on the bed,” he recalled.
“She got up to go to the toilet and I was facing where the bathroom was, the next minute I just realised that she defecated on my head.”
In the audio from the incident, Richard can be heard saying: “I don’t deserve it.”
Sheree responds: “You do deserve it. Go and scrub away you c*** and clean my s*** up.”
Other footage shows Sheree grabbing her husband by the throat and spitting on him.
In another incident, Richard needed stitches in his head after Sheree hit him over the head with a wine glass.
Richard went to the police about Sheree’s abuse, and handed over 43 pictures of injuries, 36 pieces of footage and nine recordings.
Viewers have praised My Wife My Abuser for shining a light on male victims of abuse.

A second wrote: “This is hard to watch. So glad he’s done this though, more people need to be aware of abuse #mywifemyabuser.”
“Richard and his girls deserve the world. Such a difficult watch and she was the devil. This should be shown everywhere because males can be abuse victims too,” a third put.
