Newly released surveillance footage captures the final moments before 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by former NBA G-League player Chance Comanche, 27, and his girlfriend Sakari Harnden, 19, in Las Vegas. Comanche faces charges of murder and kidnapping.
The video shows Rodgers walking with Harnden at a liquor store, appearing to be smiling, marking one of the last times she was seen alive. Chilling photos from the grand jury reveal the rocky makeshift grave where Rodgers’ bloodied and stripped body was found.
Footage from a local grocery store shows Comanche and Harnden shopping together just hours after the alleged murder. Rodgers, a medical assistant, was choked to death early on December 6.
Comanche, a former 6-foot-10 power forward and center for the Stockton Kings, was dropped from the team following his arrest. He is accused of plotting the killing during a G-League game and posing as a sex-work customer to lure Rodgers to her death.
According to police, Comanche confessed to the murder and claimed Harnden instructed him. The pair met on a dating app, and although their relationship lasted only a few months, they remained in touch.
Harnden allegedly plotted with Comanche to lure Rodgers away from her boyfriend and friends in Las Vegas so they could kill her. Pretending to be a client, Comanche called Rodgers to a meeting place, where he strangled her with an HDMI cord with help from Harnden. They then disposed of her body in a ditch in Henderson.
