The billionaire behind “Shark Tank,” Kevin O’Leary, declared he would be boycotting New York City in response to Judge Arthur Engoron’s $355 million decision against former President Donald Trump. O’Leary denounced the ruling as “corrupt and baseless,” criticizing Judge Engoron and Attorney Letitia James for their involvement in the case.
O’Leary expressed his disbelief to Fox News. “There is no justification for it. I am completely unable to comprehend or even grasp the decision. He continued to criticize New York, calling it a “loser state” along with California because of its unwelcoming laws, exorbitant taxes, and anti-competitive regulations.
“[New York] was already on the top of the list of being a loser state. I would never invest in New York now, and I’m not the only person saying that.” The reality TV star and entrepreneur also highlighted the impact of the ruling on future investments, particularly in high-end data centers, which are a booming asset class in the real estate sector.
“This has nothing to do with Trump. Forget about Trump. This is not a Trump situation. This is a New York problem now.”
